Tips for avoiding procrastination
If you struggle with procrastination you are not alone!
There are many reasons why we procrastinate. Some are that:
- we don't know how to ask for help
- we feel overwhelmed
- the task is difficult or unpleasant
- there are other things we would rather do
- we are perfectionists
- we are just lazy!
Whatever our reason is; the truth remains that procrastination rarely helps the situation. Too often it means that we have more stress and sometimes also have shame and guilt over what has not been done.
The following resources may be helpful for you if you struggle with procrastination. If you know that this will be a difficulty for you, share this with your Mentor and ask them to support you. Being held accountable by someone who cares for you is a good place to start.
